Three Questions by Leo Tolstoy Unit 2

Unit 2 The king, dressed in simple clothes and alone, visited a hermit in the forest to seek answers to three questions: the right time to act, the most important people, and the most important affairs. The hermit gave no reply and kept digging, so the king helped him with the work. While they were there, a wounded bearded man ran towards them. The king treated his wound, carried him into the hut, and stayed the night. The next morning, the man revealed he was the king’s enemy, who had planned to kill him in revenge for his brother’s execution and loss of property. However, after being saved by the king, he repented and promised loyalty. The king forgave him, promised care, and even restored his property, thus turning an enemy into a friend.

Three Questions by Leo Tostoy Unit 1

Unit 1 A king wanted to know the answers to three questions: the right time to begin everything, the right people to listen to, and the most important thing to do. He announced a reward for anyone who could answer. Many learned men came, but they all gave different answers. Some said to plan everything in advance, others said to act according to circumstances, some suggested consulting a council, and others said only magicians could tell the right time. For the second question, some considered councillors most important, others priests, doctors, or warriors. For the third, some valued science, others warfare, and others religious worship. Since all the answers were different, the king was not satisfied and decided instead to seek advice from a wise hermit.

Standing Up For Yourself Unit-4 Summery (Q and A)With MCQ

Standing Up For Yourself Summery To conquer my fear of Red, I trained with parallel bars and weights, slowly building my muscles. I recalled a book about ju-jitsu, a Japanese wrestling method that helps the weak defeat the strong. I traded a week’s ration card for a ju-jitsu textbook and practiced at home with two friends for three weeks. Then, I faced Red, who was playing cards with his lieutenants in our yard. Despite my fear, I kicked their cards, challenging him. Red, surprised, stood up and reached for his knuckle-duster, but I used a ju-jitsu move, jabbing him and making him collapse in pain. When he charged again, I grabbed his wrist, squeezed until he dropped the knuckle-duster, and he fell, crying. That day, Red lost his power over our street. I learned I didn’t need to fear the strong if I knew how to beat them with ju-jitsu, and that being a poet meant not just writing poems but also standing up for them.

Standing Up For Yourself Unit 3 Q & A (With Mcqs)

To overcome my fear of Red, I wrote a poem about him, my first piece of journalism in verse. By the next day, everyone on the street knew it and loved it, filled with hateful glee. One morning, on my way to school, Red and his lieutenants confronted me. His piercing eyes mocked me as he said, “Ah, the poet,” with a crooked smile, asking if my verses rhymed. Then, he pulled out his knuckle-duster, struck my head, and I fell, bleeding and unconscious—my first “reward” as a poet. I spent days in bed recovering. When I went out, head still bandaged, I saw Red again. Despite trying to be brave, I panicked and ran home. There, I lay on my bed, ashamed and furious at my cowardice, determined to conquer it no matter what.

Standing Up For Yourself Unit 2 (Q & A) with MCQS

  Summery   Red, a 16-year-old boy, ruled our street. He was big, broad-shouldered, and walked confidently, like a sailor. With his cap backward, red hair falling over his face, and sharp green eyes, he looked intimidating. A few followers, also wearing caps backward, trailed him. Red would demand "money" from any boy, and his group would search their pockets. If anyone resisted, they’d get beaten up. Everyone, including me, feared Red because he carried a metal knuckle-duster. Broad-sh...

Standing Up for Yourself UNIT - 1 Summery ( Q & A With MCQs)

  Standing Up for Yourself  Summery In 1941, I lived alone in a quiet Moscow apartment. My parents were divorced; my father was in Kazakhstan with his new family, and I rarely heard from him. My mother, a former geologist, was singing for soldiers at the war front. With no parents around, I learned from the streets how to swear, smoke, spit, and fight. The streets also taught me to be fearless and stand up to stronger people, lessons I still carry today. 👉 empty flat - an unoccupi...

Environment: A Shared Responsibility Essay -1

Environment: A Shared Responsibility The environment is the foundation of all life on Earth. It provides us with essential resources such as air, water, food, and shelter. However, due to human activities, our planet is facing serious environmental challenges like pollution, climate change, deforestation, and loss of biodiversity. Protecting the environment is not just the job of governments or scientists – it is a shared responsibility that involves every individual, community, industry, and nation. The Role of Individuals As individuals, we can take small but meaningful steps to reduce harm to the environment. Simple actions like using less plastic, saving electricity and water, planting trees, using public transportation, and properly disposing of waste can make a big difference when done collectively. Each person's efforts may seem small, but when combined, they can have a powerful impact. The Role of Communities and Organizations Communities play a key role in promoting enviro...

Environment: A Shared Responsibility

Environment: A Shared Responsibility The environment is the world around us — the air we breathe, the water we drink, the land we live on, and the plants and animals we share it with. A clean and healthy environment is necessary for the survival of all living beings. However, due to pollution, deforestation, climate change, and careless human activities, our environment is in great danger today. A Shared Duty The responsibility to protect the environment does not belong to one person or group alone. It is a shared responsibility. Governments must create and enforce strict environmental laws. Industries must reduce pollution and use eco-friendly technologies. Schools should educate children about the importance of nature. And most importantly, every individual must play their part. What Can We Do? We can contribute by making small but meaningful changes in our daily lives. For example: Planting trees and protecting forests. Reducing the use of plastic. Saving water and electricity. Usin...
