Introduction to R.K. Narayan:

R.K. Narayan was born in 1906 in Madras. He got his graduation from Mysore University. He lived in Bangalore and devoted his time to writing. He was a prolific writer. His contribution was quite rich and substantial. He got the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1960 for his vast literary output. The government honoured him with the Padma Bhusan Award. He passed away on 13.5.2001 at the age of ninety-five. Rasipuram Krishnaswami Narayanswami or R.K. Narayan has created landmarks in Indo-Anglian literature, in the field of novels, stories, and essays.

ଆର.କେ. ନାରାୟଣଙ୍କ ପରିଚୟ:

ଆର.କେ. ନାରାୟଣଙ୍କ ଜନ୍ମ 1906 ମସିହାରେ ମଦ୍ରାସରେ ହୋଇଥିଲା। ସେ ମୈସୋର ବିଶ୍ୱବିଦ୍ୟାଳୟରୁ ସ୍ନାତକୋତ୍ତର ଡିଗ୍ରୀ ଅର୍ଜନ କରିଥିଲେ। ସେ ବ୍ୟାଙ୍ଗାଲୋରରେ ରହି ଲେଖାଲେଖିକୁ ସମୟ ଦେଇଥିଲେ। ସେ ଜଣେ ଉତ୍ସାହୀ ଲେଖକ ଥିଲେ। ତାଙ୍କ ସାହିତ୍ୟିକ ଅଂଶଦାନ ବହୁତ ଏବଂ ଗଣନୀୟ ଥିଲା। 1960 ମସିହାରେ ସେ ସାହିତ୍ୟ ଏକାଡେମୀ ପୁରସ୍କାର ପାଇଥିଲେ। ସରକାର ତାଙ୍କୁ ପଦ୍ମଭୂଷଣ ପୁରସ୍କାରରେ ସମ୍ମାନିତ କଲା। ସେ 13.5.2001 ରେ ପଞ୍ଚାନାବେ ବର୍ଷ ବୟସରେ ପରଲୋକଗମନ କଲେ। ରାସିପୁରମ କୃଷ୍ଣସ୍ୱାମୀ ନାରାୟଣସ୍ୱାମୀ କିମ୍ବା ଆର.କେ. ନାରାୟଣ ଭାରତୀୟ  ସାହିତ୍ୟରେ ଉଲ୍ଲେଖନୀୟ ପ୍ରତିଷ୍ଠା ସୃଷ୍ଟି କରିଛନ୍ତ। ତାଙ୍କର ଉପନ୍ୟାସ, କାହାଣୀ ଏବଂ ପ୍ରବନ୍ଧ ଉଚ୍ଚକୋଟୀର ଅଟେ।
